How To Use Autel MaxiSys MS906 for OBD1 Diagnostics?

The OBD2 protocol is basically applicable to vehicles produced after 1996. If your vehicle is older and you are not sure about the OBD1/OBD2 vehicle, please send the VIN to us for checking.

Autel Maxisys MS906 is connected by cable, Autel Maxisys MS906 Pro is connected by Bluetooth VCI 200 adapter. The Autel MS906 requires plugging into the OBD1 main cable specifically connected to the OBD1 vehicle. If the Autel MS906 PRO Scanner Adapter cannot be plugged into the OBD1 vehicle's OBD interface, you will need to connect the converter cable.

Autel Maxisys MS906/ MS906 Pro When properly connected to an OBD1 vehicle, the Auto VIN feature will automatically read the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) number to instantly identify the make and model of your vehicle, then display that vehicle's menu.

If the Auto VIN function does not work, please enter the VIN manually for identification. Please note that the scanner has limited vehicle coverage and may not work on all vehicles.

After reading the car's VIN, you will enter the menu page and click on the screen to quickly perform a series of diagnostic tasks provided by the scanner. You can instantly clear error codes and observe live data.
